Gamiem Khan

Currently director of the company Fortress Engineering, design and installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilation systems since 1992.

President of the SKW Rugby Club in Bo-Kaap since 2003.

Served as Secretary for Ottoman CC from 1985 to 1998.

Played 1st team cricket for Ottoman CC and rugby for SK Rugby Club.

Represented WP in both codes of sport, rugby and cricket, at school and senior level.

Founder member of the SK Ghatam Jamaah, established in 1992, and still active in the organisation.

Islamic studies from the age of 6 under Galiefa Boeta Haa, and as a teenager taught by the late Imam Bassier. At the age of 14 became a Bilal at the Boorhaanol Masjied and recites Riewaayat annually at the Boorhaanol Masjied, and regularly accompanied the late Imam Bassier to do Thikr.

My father, Boeta Ismail Khan, was the Toekamanie of Bo-Kaap, and also held Toekamanie classes at home and in the mosque. I have been exposed to the rights of the deceased my whole life.
